The True Act of Balancing Can Lead to Success: Balance hobbies, Work, and Education

The True Act of Balancing Can Lead to Success: Management Systems for self-paced learning, can significantly enhance your skills and keep you ahead in the field. Continuously updating your skills not only keeps you industry-ready but also opens up new opportunities for growth and innovation.

Hobbies and personal pursuits play a crucial role in maintaining both mental and physical well-being in order to sustain a well-rounded and fulfilling life. They provide a much-needed break from the routine and stress of work, allowing you to recharge and find joy in activities you love. Many companies now recognize the importance of supporting employees’ interests outside of work. This holistic approach to well-being acknowledges that a balanced life can lead to happier, more productive employees.

By encouraging hobbies and personal pursuits, companies help employees reduce stress, improve mental health, and foster creativity. It’s great to see this shift towards a more comprehensive view of employee well-being. When employees feel supported in their personal interests and hobbies, they often return to work more refreshed and motivated. This can lead to increased productivity, creativity, and overall job satisfaction. It’s a win-win situation wherein employees enjoy a better work-life balance, and companies benefit from a more engaged and effective workforce.

There are various initiatives at HCLTech to #FindYour Spark at work and even beyond. There is a competition called Writer’s Spark where TechBees are invited to flaunt their literary skills. Participants are enthusiastically looking forward to the opening of the competition till results are announced. There are external judges from global teams identified to adjudge winners. There are similar other initiatives that we conduct which are not only exciting but innovative as well like Photography Contest, World Music Day, International Day of Yoga, voluntary participation in CSR activities like tree plantation. Just to give you an example about what we did for World Music Day. We rolled out an emailer seeking nominations for singing auditions and got several registrations. Then we ran an audition where we picked up 6 best voices and invited them to jam in a studio, create original music with their own lyrics. What got created was just not musical but magical. Not just in terms of the outcome but the way the jamming happened. This is what we mean by encouraging hobbies even while at work. How do you think you can do all of this – only by balancing life, work and education cause missing out on any one of them can stop you from #SuperchargingProgress for yourself and our company as well.

In corporates like HCLTech, there is an Art Gallery where students can stroll in and do some crafting and painting work. This helps them unwind and build a spirit of team bonding. It also helps students relax. There are also cultural fests organized ushering in the feeling of college life for young joinees like TechBees. People puddle in for sports activities irrespective of their designation or profile. Team spirit and camaraderie becomes unparalleled with engagements like these. The importance of balancing everything in life has become so important that we notice tremendous interest and turnout at cultural fests like Arc lights. It is a regular internal cultural event for the employees where we invite them to come up and showcase their cultural bests. And the excitement is of a different level. When they get boosted to perform on stage, their level of confidence increases manifolds just like their team bonding when their colleagues come to cheer them for their performances. That is the outcome and significance of initiatives like these.
