SASTRA Deemed to be University was established in 1984 as Shanmugha College of Engineering at Thanjavur. It was later conferred deemed university status by the Government of India on April 26, 2001. The University offers various UG, PG & Ph. D. programs in Engineering, Science, Management, Law, and Arts. It is recognized as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Government of India and is undertaking research for various agencies like DST, DBT, AYUSH, DRDO, DRDL, ISRO, BRNS, etc. SASTRA is re-accredited (III cycle) by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the maximum ‘A’ grade and also ranked amongst the top universities by the Government of India through the NIRF and other global ranking agencies like Times Higher Education & QS. SASTRA is recognized as a Category I University as per the UGC’s Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018.
HCLTech has collaborated with SASTRA University to offer higher education programs. These programs have been developed to take care of the higher education aspiration of candidates while they are working at HCLTech. SASTRA University is offering BCA, MCA and M.Sc. programs for HCL TechBee Scholars. Classes for these programs will be conducted at HCLTech Campuses and the fee for the program is partially funded by HCLTech.
Candidates who have successfully completed TechBee – HCL Early Career Program are eligible to apply for higher education programs offered by SASTRA University.
